22. What is the format of play?

The Peoria Scoring System

Before the game begins, the tournament director will select 6 random holes on the golf course. These 6 holes will be unknown to the players.

All golfers will record their gross score for each of the 18 holes, with 9 being the maximum permitted score for any given hole.

At the completion of play, the scoring team will tally each player’s total score for the selected 6 holes. After which they will multiply this number by 3, subtract the course par from this figure and multiply the result by 80% to calculate the player’s Peoria Handicap for the day.

Each player’s Peoria Handicap will then be subtracted from their total Gross Score to yield a Peoria Nett Result.

23. In case of rain, what happens?

In the event of rain, play will continue and will only be suspended when there is lightning warning. Golfers who wish to wait for the weather to clear may proceed to the nearest shelter such as the halfway house or main club house. Should lightning warnings persist, play will be stopped completely to ensure the safety of all golfers.

Re-game voucher: In the event that weather conditions remain unsafe for golfers to play (up till 10am) and the entire 18-hole golf game has to be cancelled before commencement, Palm Springs Golf & Country Club will issue a re-game voucher that will allow golfers to return and play a 18-hole game on another day of the golfer’s choice.
